ShopLOCAL Gift Guide

Your One-Stop Source for Local Shops

It’s that time again and, whether you’re prepared or not, the holidays are here. This year, don’t stress out. Instead of battling it out in traffic to shop at big box stores in the ‘burbs, do yourself (and your neighbors) a favor and pledge to shop local this year. Avoid the malls. Avoid chain stores that rob areas of any unique identity.

It’s a rough economy out there (still!) and we all need some help. So help out a NEO-based entrepreneur. Buying local is a smart, equitable and sustainable business practice that helps support real people in your community–not some far-off CEO making a killing. The 1% is doing just fine; time to support the 99% trying to make a living.

This year, we’ve provided you with all you needs — a list of the coolest shops in town and maps of where to find them. What are we missing? Let us know at

  5. Why not practice buying local throughout the year… Think how much we can take back our economy and foster local vitality by supporting each other rather than only Wall Street. And IF by chance something cost more..well, think of paying for a real personal merchant to customer experience…quality, service, and knowledge about a product…and retaining your local identity, economic diversity, character, and independence among many other reasons shopping local/independent makes sense.

  6. Hand made Teddy bears created in Chagrin Falls. Betsky Bears are handcrafted with the finest materials to ensure quality and most importantly softness. Each bear is made with special attention and love which creates individual personality to each Betsky bear. Every bear makes a wonderful friend and they are waiting to be adopted by a great family.
