VIDEO: Transformer Station
Exclusive Interview with Fred & Laura Bidwell

A truly transformative project is about to take place on West 29th Street, just South of Detroit Avenue, when the Cleveland Museum of Art, with a gift from the Fred & Laura Ruth Bidwell Foundation, opens The Transformer Station, a one-time substation for the Cleveland Railway Company. When it opens in late 2012, an addition will bring the facility to 8000 square feet, which will be curated 6 months of the year by the CMA and the other six months by the Bidwells, avid photography collectors and supporters of local artists.

Listen to this exclusive interview with the Bidwells as they talk about their passion for contemporary art and photography, and how they hope The Transformer Station will become a laboratory and think tank, and help break the artificial boundaries between the East and West sides of Cleveland, and between Cleveland and their home, and the home of their business, JWT Action, in Akron.
